I’m New

You might be wondering, what’s it really like at Sojourn Church?

Imagine hanging out in a warm, comfortable, inviting place where you feel accepted and part of the group.  This is Sojourn.  We are a group of people on a journey to become like Jesus Christ.  You’ll be surrounded by a bunch of imperfect people who are trusting the Lord to change them.

We will not shame or judge you. And we don’t care how you’re dressed or what candidate you voted for. Want to know the best part? No matter what you’ve been through or what questions you might have about God and faith, our church is a place where you’ll find the love, grace, and forgiveness Jesus gives to everyone.

About Sojourn

Who we are

Sojourn Church was born out of a love for people and a passion to honor God.  We are a family of believers who have found joy, hope and peace in Jesus and simply want as many people as possible to experience that same freedom.

Where we come from

Sojourn began meeting in January 2010.  We wanted to be where people would feel accepted, welcomed, and safe while getting to know Jesus Christ.  We put our meeting space in the Mall of the Bluffs to eliminate any of the usual barriers between the church and the community.  In the beginning, we opened an ice cream shop in the mall called Ice Cream and Answers giving away free ice cream and answering questions. We specialized in relationships and gave good advice for people on raising kids, dealing with teenagers, and fixing suffering relationships.  For three years we ran a Friday night dodge ball game for local teenagers that was quite a “hit.”  Then in 2014 we began a recovery ministry which we still run today.  During all this we continue to meet and worship, teach the Bible, and encourage one another to become increasingly like Jesus.

In the fall of 2019, the Mall announced that they were closing and in December we moved out. We temporarily borrowed a friend’s church building and now have moved our current address Bellevue, Nebraska.

Where we’re headed

We continue on our daily, interactive life-changing journey with Jesus and we’ll invite along everyone we can.  We will continue to make a difference in the community with our recovery program, our involvement with the local homeless shelters and our participation in local and worldwide ministries.
